Waker Foundation Board
On September 8, 2014, Mr. Joseph R. Waker, Jr., started a hunger strike to show support for those persons that are Hungry and Homeless. Mr. Waker completed the strike alone even though he requested for others to join him is his attempt to bring Hunger and Homelessness to an end. Mr. Waker has been combating these two problems for many years now and believes it is time to demonstrate our zeal and passion for this cause. Unfortunately, support for this cause was minimal and Mr. Waker had to end his strike after over 25 days on October 5, 2014.
We are still fighting this worthy cause to end hunger and homelessness. Contact us to show your support.
The Waker Foundation helped to feed over 5,500 homeless individuals and families in the Maryland and Washington, D.C. area for Thanksgiving and Christmas 2013!
Thank you to our dedicated staff and volunteers!
